ERNEST INVITES BLUEGRASS PHENOM WYATT ELLIS ON STAGE AT NEYLAND STADIUM
NASHVILLE-- September 24, 2024 -- Singer-songwriter Ernest invited bluegrass wunderkind, and East Tennessee native, Wyatt Ellis to join him on stage during his set at Knoxville's famed Neyland Stadium, Friday night (9/20), introducing him as "one of the best mandolin players on planet earth!"
Wyatt joined Ernest and his band for the first three songs of the set then returned to the stage for a finale of "Family Tradition."
Ernest and Wyatt met in 2023 backstage at the Grand Ole Opry and spent time getting to know each other the way all great musicians do, jamming in the dressing room.
Wyatt made his AMERICANAFEST debut on Thursday (9/19) and left town immediately following his concert at the Station Inn to get to Knoxville. After the performance with Ernest, he turned around and headed back to Nashville to perform at the Opry (9/21). In addition to his own set, he was invited to sit in on "Rocky Top" with Old Crow Medicine Show.
This week Wyatt can be found at the International Bluegrass Music Assn. conference in Raleigh (9/26), where he has been nominated for IBMA's "Best New Artist," and the Pilgrimage Music Festival (9/28).
