NEFESH MOUNTAIN RELEASES TWO NEW SINGLES!
NASHVILLE – September 27, 2024 — Nefesh Mountain, the groundbreaking and genre-defying band helmed by husband-and-wife Eric Lindberg and Doni Zasloff, has just released much anticipated new music. Two brand new tracks, “Regrets in the Rearview” and “Race to Run,” have been selected as singles from their upcoming double-album Beacons, scheduled for release in early 2025.
Beacons' two full-length albums are distinctly different, while clearly emanating from what makes Nefesh Mountain unique in the first place—a vast musical knowledge and equally vast curiosity, paired with immaculate musicianship. One disc is pure bluegrass, and the other unadulterated Americana.
“Regrets in the Rearview” surges forward with dizzying banjo lines and pulse-quickening rhythms, and features iconic bluegrass luminaries as special guests—Sam Bush, Jerry Douglas, Stuart Duncan, Rob McCoury, and Mark Schatz. “It’s our own personal reminder to stay present and keep moving forward instead of dwelling too much on the past," Lindberg and Zasloff shared with The Bluegrass Situation. “We wanted to channel the blissful freedom that comes with hitting the road and finding faith in yourself.” Another particularly special guest makes her debut, the couple’s daughter Millie, on her standout harmony vocals.
On the flip side, “Race to Run” takes the shape of a magnificently rambling piece of country-rock laced with plenty of fiery guitar riffs. It's a powerful Americana anthem showcasing the band’s versatility.
Speaking to American Songwriter, Zasloff commented, “The spirit of ‘Race to Run’ and the whole album is that we’re not trying to compete with the world and we’re trying to do things our own way." Adding, "There’s no rules. Let’s just be ourselves."
Beacons will mark a bold artistic statement from the band, blending their signature bluegrass roots with Americana, folk, blues, and rock influences. The dual release of two singles in separate styles is a reflection of Beacons’ expansive sonic landscape and thematic depth.
